About

Diana Seidl NDD ATD was born in Manchester. She moved around the world then settled in Henley in 1968. Diana has spent the last 30 years working as a teacher.

She has now decided to get off the treadmill, withdraw from the rat race and has vowed to do things in life that she wants to do and that have a meaning. Hence Diana's art.

Diana's paintings are a search for herself. Each one individual to her moods and feelings. Diana's aim is to capture a moment. Diana studied art when she was younger in a traditional and classical manner but deliberately pulls away from rules. She experiments with mixed media from a position of innocence not applying convention in any way. Diana wants her work to be spontaneous and fresh, not hemmed in by stereotypes.

Diana's textured paintings are an example of her expression where the onlooker can interpret the flow of the colours and the stroke of the brush. Perhaps an inner quest for identity. A very personal search for the true self. Diana has been an Art Teacher for most of her life and following her retirement from Pangbourne College where she was the Head of the Arts Faculty she has continued to enjoy teaching adults at her own private classes in Bix, Henley on Thames as well as Marlborough Summer School.

Diana has given tirelessly to the community and is programme secretary for the Henley Art and Crafts Guild as well as being involved with providing Art support to local schools.
